Flu Vaccinations 2026/27

Each year, we offer seasonal vaccinations to help protect our patients and communities from serious illness during the winter months.

Our annual flu vaccination programme will begin shortly, and we encourage all eligible patients to take up the offer of vaccination when invited. Flu can be a serious illness, particularly for older adults, pregnant women, young children, carers, and those with certain long-term health conditions. Vaccination remains the best way to reduce your risk of becoming seriously unwell from flu.

When will invitations be sent?

We will begin contacting eligible patients from September 2026. Invitations may be sent by text message, email, letter, or telephone, depending on the contact information we hold for you.

Please ensure your contact details are up to date so that we can reach you when it is your turn to book. The NHS flu programme starts at different times for different eligible groups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I have the flu vaccine every year?

The strains of flu circulating each winter can change, and protection from previous vaccinations reduces over time. This is why a new vaccine is offered each year.

Can I have my flu vaccine and other seasonal vaccinations at the same time?

Where clinically appropriate, it may be possible to receive multiple vaccinations during the same appointment. We will provide further information when inviting eligible patients.

What if I think I'm eligible but haven't received an invitation?

Please contact the practice and a member of our team will be happy to help.
